how I ended up designing books
Today marks a year since my father's passing. He has been with me this whole year, a constant in my thoughts.
I have always had with me a copy of my dad's first book. I remember how impressed I was as a child that he had made such a thing. In some shallow way, I think that may have pushed me to what I do now, though I create the form and visual story, and stay far away from the writing part.
I dusted off my copy to take pix for this post, and I found a message to me from my dad. "The only reason people write books is to leave a memory behind..."
And I found his old card...
